COVID-19: Ikpeazu Set To Establish Six Test Centers.
The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu says that a total of six COVID-19 testing Centres are to be established across the state in an effort to testing up to thirty percent of Abia populace.
Dr. Ikpeazu who was speaking while taking delivery of three brand new Ambulance Buses from the management of BUA FOUNDATION at Government House, Umuahia said that the third COVID-19 testing Centre will soon be installed at the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia while another is to be set up at the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike.
The Governor said that the state has long commenced rapid community testing across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state. He said that the Ambulances Will be deployed to the hinterland as enablers in winning the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
He commended the BUA GROUP for the show of love and care and for partnering government in the fight against the COVID-19 Pandemic, assuring that his administration Will continue to partner the company in the task of delivery of democracy dividends.
Earlier while handing over the keys of the Ambulances to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, the Chairman BUA GROUP, Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu represented by the General manager, Alhaji Muhammed Ibrahim said that this is part of their corporate social responsibility and in support in the fight against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
He used the forum to congratulate Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for surviving the COVID-19 pandemic adding that they are pleased with the infrastructural facelifts of the present administration in the state.
The Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Okochukwu, the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Chris Ezem, the Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, Commissioner for Health Dr. Joe Osuji, the Chief of Staff to the Governor Dr. A.C.B Agbazuere among other members of the state Executive Council were present at the event.
